Early morning round

A couple of old deer enjoy an early morning round......!!

Course news update

Greens and tees sprayed with iron, liquid fertiliser and growth suppressant.

Some long area of rough on 6th and 13th to help speed up play.

Grass cuttings blown off semi-rough areas for tidier appearance.

Please be aware of wet areas for anyone using buggys as there has been some damage done over the last few weeks.

Also Pitch marks on greens are becoming a big problem and lack of repairing. As the greens start to dry out the pitch marks are taking longer to repair so please make sure all are fixed.

Rain rain go away.........

Total Rainfall for June was 187mm!!! This compares to an average on 80-85mm!

Greens have been cut with hand mowers for the last 2weeks and this will continue until conditions improve and greens firm up.

Iron has been sprayed onto greens to combat disease and harden the growth, along with a growth suppressant.

Snaking greens - with soft conditions and a thick sward of grass a 'snaking' affect is being created when putting. This will be addressed by verti-cutting to thin out the grass. Again this will be done at the first opportunity when conditions allow (hopefully this year sometime!!!)

Verti-draining on some of the wet fairways and walk off areas has done to try and help get rid of some water.
This will also be done on greens with smaller 1/2 inch tines next week.
